do I register at the track or do I need to sign up here for the trackday. I'm going to try to make it out for both days. I have no licence and never rode with MCRA. also is it going to be CCW both days? any info would be great. thanks in advance.

You sign up here:
https://www.motorsportreg.com/events/mc ... 63aW5grKUk

You will need to purchase your membership at that time, as well. Its $15 for the year.

The Hallett event will be CCW both days. Let us know if you have any additional questions. :-)

There is a lot of good info about all of that on the MCRA web site. Specifically to some of your questions and more:

The about page mentions very high level:
http://midwestcaferacing.com/blog/2016/ ... llo-world/

FAQ answers a few (and probably more):
http://midwestcaferacing.com/faqs/

Info on the Race Clinic (how to get your race license):
http://midwestcaferacing.com/race-clinic/

Our racing in general (classes, rulebook etc):
http://midwestcaferacing.com/racing/

And the main link with lots of other info:
http://midwestcaferacing.com/

Are you an experienced racer? Experienced track day rider? What group do you normally ride in?

thanks. I checked it out a little further. probably just do one day and no races. I have No race experience. and funds are short too! plus my R6 is broke and I'll be forced to ride a suzuki during the event. there won't be cameras around will there? can't have photos leaked to the net with me on a suzuki.

We have a professional photographer (ABI Photo) at all events. Pics are included in the price of your track day, so you can go to their site and download them at no additional charge.

weather looks like it is gonna be great. I'm planning for saturday right now. I wore my tires pretty good this weekend with about 600 iles of riding but they should be good for one trackday. I just hope I can get these track plastics to fit up. I've never been to the track on this bike so I've never tried to in stall the track plastics. guess I'll find out thursday night.

whats up with lunch? some Org. provide lunch, some don't. how ya'll work it?

MCRA doesnt provide lunch, but there is a cafe in the tower at Hallett that has lunch for purchase. If you dont want to buy lunch there, I would definitely plan on bringing food with you as its about 20 min to the nearest town and even those have limited food selection. I guess there is a grocery store about 10-15 min south of the track, so theres always that, as well.

two more questions. in the summer months Connie puts us on track at 8am. will we be getting on track at 8 or 9am like the generic schedule says. also my track plastics I bought turned out to be for a different year model. So i will just be using my OEM plastics. I'll tape the lights of course, will there be any problem during tech inspection since I registered for advance?

9AM start at all MCRA events. Not sure about the tech, refer to the rule book that's on the website for that.

Stock plastics are fine as long as mirrors are removed and lights are taped so that light doesnt show through ( i would just remove them) Racing is a different story, but for the track day its fine.

thanks for having me out fellows. I had a great time and enjoyed riding with everyone. least amount of crashes i have ever seen at hallett. you guys put on a good show.
for me it was the first time on the gixxer at the track. boy was it different than the R6. didn't seem to be able to flick it over from T4 to T5 real fast like the R6 does. had good speed on the straights however and the brakes worked well enough to keep me on the line. it started to get some brake fade by the end of the session though. I think if i replace the pads and drop the front forks in the triples maybe down 5mm the bike would ride better. other than that it was a great day and I got a hot fudge sundae so big i couldn't even eat it all. you'll love my timing error in session 6, turn 5 exit check it out.

Glad you had a good time! It was a great weekend. I think the club lost money on it but it sure was fun. :) I may or may not have met you at the track. Hope to see you out there next time!
